Chapter 31 - Explanations

Chapter 31

Explanations

Leander stood in front of Marianne with his arms crossed.
"Well, do you remember?"
Marianne nodded.
He snapped his fingers and the time stop ended.
Everyone moved again.
Athena looked at Leander in amazement.
"YOU!"
"Yes, here I am again. Did you miss me?" Leander smiled.
"Where have you been in all this time!" Athena scolded.
"I had a lot to do." Leander shrugged his shoulders.
Marianne was confused.
Hadn't Athena always warned Marianne about him?
Enraged, Athena approached Leander.
Marianne suspected nothing good.
Then she stopped in front of Leander.
Before anyone could react, she pressed her lips to his.
He returned her kiss.
Marianne's jaw dropped.
"What the hell is going on here?"
Leander started to say something, but Athena put her index finger on his mouth.
"Don't you dare to talk!"

He shrugged his shoulders. Athena turned to Marianne.

"I didn't want you to run away at the time, so I created the legend of the evil prince of the night who will get you if you mess up. But his real mission was to protect you!" Athena explained.

"Please... what?" Marianne looked from Athena to Leander and back to Athena. He shrugged his shoulders again, grinning.

"That came from you?" Marianne looked at Athena angrily.

"Yes, that came from me, but unfortunately he disappeared years later and I STILL DON'T KNOW WHERE HE DID GO!" Athena looked at Leander angrily again.

Leander sighed. "I was needed."

"And then you leave without a word? Just like that?" Athena was angry.

"What is that between you?" asked Marianne.

"He's my lover! The best I've ever had." Athena sighed.

"When I met him for the first time, we seduced each other. When I saw his powers, I knew he was the best one who could protect you. But I also didn't know that the legend I invented around him was doing the rounds."
"And so I became a general bogeyman," Leander sighed.
"I don't like to interrupt this round of love, but we're getting visitors," Glenervan said.
He pointed to the horizon.
A ship appeared there.
The WYVERN had returned.
